RHS Academic Decathlon Takes 2nd Place in Regionals with 77 Individual Awards!

The Rutherford High School Academic Decathlon took 2nd place overall in the Regional Competition, garnering a whopping 77 individual awards! The team will now move on to states.  The State Championship is on Feb. 29th.

Some highlights:
Tierra Sherlock: 10 for 10, with an award in each category, including Gold in Speech Christina Scanlon: 8 out of 10, with Gold in Music and Art Matt Peeples: 8 out of 10, w/ Gold in Literature and Science, second highest scorer in his category. UMS and RHS Art Students’ Work Showcased by The Montclair Art Museum

UMS art student Erin Park (8th Grade) and RHS art students Dana Serea (10th Grade) and Brandon Fried (12th Grade) have been selected as winners in The Montclair Art Museum's 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. This is a remarkable achievement for any young artist. RHS Art Students Exhibit Work on Park Avenue

During the month of January, the work of Rutherford High School artists is on display at Coccia Realty at 11 Park Avenue. The exhibition is sponsored by The Rutherford Arts Council. We thank them for inviting our students to participate in the exhibition that features the work of many talented artists in the borough. RHS Fall Play Production – Radium Girls

The RHS Fall Play will be presented Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th in the RHS Auditorium.  The show begins both nights at 7:30pm. The show is described as a "wry, unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsessions with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science." In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease.
