The Rutherford Preschool Program is designed to offer Rutherford residents access to a half-day program for preschool children ages 3 and 4. Children will be involved in both academic and social activities appropriate for their age.
Who can attend the program?
The program is open to students who reside in Rutherford with a parent or guardian. Students must be 3 or 4 years of age by October 1, 2026. Space is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. A waitlist will be established if necessary.
Who will be teaching my child?
Each classroom is staffed by a licensed teacher.
What are the hours?
- 3-year-olds: 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- 4-year-olds: 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The preschool program will follow the 2026–2027 Rutherford Public Schools calendar.
Where will the classes be held?
- Lincoln School – 414 Montross Avenue
- Washington School – 89 Wood Street
Is there a fee for the program?
Tuition is $3,000 for the 2026–2027 school year half-day program. A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required at registration. This deposit will be applied to the June tuition payment.
How can I register for the program?
Preschool registration for the 2026–2027 school year begins on January 22, 2026. After completing the online registration, please scan and email the required documents to registration@rutherfordschools.org to complete the registration.
