Profile of a Rutherford Graduate Competencies in RHS English Classes
The English 107/207 classes taught by Miss Monica Rizzi have incorporated the Profile of a Rutherford Graduate tenets into their classes. Students were introduced to the CER format (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) earlier this week, as they will be using this format to help them develop structured paragraphs throughout the year. To introduce the format, Miss Rizzi connected CER with the PORG competencies in a way that was meaningful and accessible to students. Welcome Back to English Class!
Today, students in English 200 explored We Will Write, which is an online writing game/platform that turns writing practice into a short, collaborative classroom activity. Mrs. Erica Muszynski and Miss Monica Rizzi chose to use WeWillWrite on the first day of school to help students get back into the groove of writing in a fun, low-pressure way. RHS Presents Popcert 42!
Rutherford High School is proud to present Popcert 42! This will be the 42nd year that this dynamic musical exhibition has been presented in the Rutherford High School Auditorium. It was first developed as a way to celebrate "popular" music at a time when school choirs and bands focused on traditional music. Over the years, it has morphed into a variety show featuring bands and solo performances. On March 25th an 26th, RHS students competed in various events, attended leadership workshops and networked with 800 fellow FCCLA members in the state.
