The English 107/207 classes taught by Miss Monica Rizzi have incorporated the Profile of a Rutherford Graduate tenets  into their classes.   Students were introduced to the CER format (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) earlier this week, as they will be using this format to help them develop structured paragraphs throughout the year.  To introduce the format, Miss Rizzi connected CER with the PORG competencies in a way that was meaningful and accessible to students. Today, students in English 200 explored We Will Write, which is an online writing game/platform that turns writing practice into a short, collaborative classroom activity. Mrs. Erica Muszynski and Miss Monica Rizzi chose to use WeWillWrite on the first day of school to help students get back into the groove of writing in a fun, low-pressure way. After being away from school for the summer, the teachers wanted to ease students back into the classroom routine without overwhelming them with a formal writing assignment.
