Rutherford High School is proud to present Popcert 42! This will be the 42nd year that this dynamic musical exhibition has been presented in the Rutherford High School Auditorium. It was first developed as a way to celebrate "popular" music at a time when school choirs and bands focused on traditional music. Over the years, it has morphed into a variety show featuring bands and solo performances. On March 23, 2026, the Rutherford Concert Choir sang at the esteemed Carnegie Hall under the direction of University of Kentucky Director of Choral Activities, Jefferson Johnson. For the past two months, students worked extremely hard to learn challenging repertoire and rehearsed with choirs from Kentucky and North Carolina. Two RHS students were even featured in a small group at the beginning of one of the songs, Nina Tavani and Vivienne Virostko.
