Tiny Art Gallery
The Pierrepont Arts & Crafts Club is creating its very own Tiny Art Gallery! We started by talking about museums and the different types of art displayed in them, then explored how artists use symbolism to express ideas and feelings. Honoring Our Heroes for 9/11
In honor of September 11th, Ms. Dehnert, Mrs. Barone, & Mrs. Colucci's class took time to recognize and thank some of our local heroes. Students wrote heartfelt thank-you letters to first responders in our community, including some who are also parents in our class.
Through their letters, students expressed their gratitude for the service, courage, and dedication these heroes show every day to help keep our community safe. We are proud of our students for taking the time to honor those who serve and protect others![Read More...]

6th Graders Honor 9/11 Through a Lesson in Heroism
In honor of 9/11, our 6th grade students participated in a moving lesson centered on selflessness, courage, and remembrance. In their Social Studies classes, they watched the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary short featuring the incredible story of Welles Crowther, known to many as "The Man in the Red Bandana." Through the film, students learned how Welles,a 24-year-old equities trader and former volunteer firefighter, used his iconic red bandana to protect his face from smoke while making multiple trips back up the South Tower of the World Trade Center, saving at least 18 lives before losing his … [Read More...]
