Congratulations to the Rutherford students who won prizes in the Rutherford Elks Lodge 547 Drug Awareness Contest. This year's theme was: Be Kind To Your Mind - Live Drug Free. Union Middle School students in Ms. Colleen Kiick's classes won two awards. Saisha Patel took the award for best essay in Grade 8. Madison Smith, also in UMS Grade 8, won an award for her poem. RHS Video Production Student Wins State Award
Congratulations to senior Marina Faltawws who was the New Jersey state winner for the Elks Association Drug Awareness Program Video Contest. The theme of the contest was "One Pill Can Kill" and Marina's video took an introspective look into the life of someone struggling with dependence and how one friend asking, "Are you okay?" can set someone on the path to seeking help. The RHS Theatre Department proudly presents this year's Fall Play: Little Women. The theatrical version of the classic novel includes all of the dialogue and takes you on the full journeys of Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. RHS Select Choir Performs in Atlantic City
Congratulations to the Rutherford High School Select Choir for their premiere performance at the New Jersey School Boards Association's annual convention in Atlantic City. The choir is an auditioned group of singers that rehearses after school as well as during class time. It is led by Mrs. Patricia Blanchard who selects challenging repertoires for the students to learn throughout the year. RHS Art Student Earns PERFECT SCORE on AP Art Exam
Rutherford High School is proud to announce that Arianna Medina (Class of 2024) earned a perfect score on the AP® Drawing Exam in May 2023. Advanced Placement® Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. Arianna not only received the top score of 5, but was also one of only 308 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Drawing Exam, receiving the maximum score on each portion of the exam.
