“Walk in Someone Else’s Shoes” Podcast Project
In Ms. Mann’s 6th-grade classes, students stepped into a “walk in someone else’s shoes” podcast project, designed to build empathy, communication, character, and creativity. Each student interviewed a teacher or staff member from around the building, collaborating to craft thoughtful questions and film their conversations. After filming, students transformed their raw footage into a polished podcast video by adding graphics, intro/outro music, transitions, and other creative elements using their growing editing skills. Lenni-Lenape Dioramas
Ms. Dehnert, Mrs. Barone, and Mrs. Colucci’s classes recently completed an engaging project on New Jersey’s first settlers, the Lenni-Lenape. Students showcased their learning by creating diorama replicas of longhouses or wigwams, or by designing detailed posters about Lenni-Lenape life, culture, and traditions. Their creativity and hard work were proudly shared during a gallery walk, where both classes had the chance to explore and celebrate each other’s projects.
