The RHS Book Club, led by librarian Mrs. Sherrianne Herninko, met this month to discuss the historical fiction novel I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys. The students discussed the character motivations of the fictional main character of Cristian as he comes of age during the Romanian Revolution of 1989. Students combined their knowledge of history along with their passion of reading to dissect and analyze the ways in with the author created an authentic reading experience. The students were joined by Ms. Marisa Yoda (Supervisor of Social Studies), Mr. Brian Ersalesi (Supervisor of English) and Mrs. Dawn Gallo-Pasquale (English Teacher) who also shared their insights on this exciting novel.
