March is an exciting and busy time here at RHS.  We just concluded a successful winter season.  As busy as the winter season was, we have an even busier spring ahead.  We start the month off with our school musical, Mean Girls, which will be performed on March 3 and 4.  The popular Mike Cassidy Shamrock ‘N Run 5K will take place on March 11.   Many of our students and staff volunteer for this wonderful cause.  Dr. Hopkins has been working diligently on NJGPA testing which all 11th graders must take.  This (NJGPA) Graduation Proficiency Assessment will take place on March 13 and 14 and March 16 … [Read more...] about Word from the Principal

It’s hard to believe that the school year is already half over.  Semester two began on January 26!  Winter sports have begun tournament play and as always our student athletes are making us proud. The senior fashion will take place on Wednesday, February 1. I would like to wish the entire Rutherford Community a Happy New Year from RHS. It is amazing to me that we are already in December!  It has been a very exciting time here at RHS with a successful fall season.   Our band and choir students have been working extremely hard preparing for their Winter Concert.  This year we are trying something new and combining our concerts with the hardworking students at Union Middle School.   The UMS and RHS Choir members will be performing at 7:00 PM on December 8 at UNION SCHOOL.  The UMS and RHS Band members will be performing on Wednesday, December 14 at RHS.   Our winter sports teams are working hard and in full swing. It's hard to believe that I am typing that the end of Quarter 1 is approaching.   Quarter 1 ends on November 9 and as I have said a number of times already this year, the energy in the building has been fantastic.  School will be closed for election day on November 8 and also on November 10 and 11 for teachers’ convention.  The All School Play will be performed on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19.  Schools will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 24 and 25 with a one-session day on Wednesday, November 23.  The all sports booster dinner will take place on November 22 at the … [Read more...] about Word from the Principal
