It’s hard to believe we’re already in June and we are one month closer to Summer Vacation! As always, the Rutherford Public Schools wishes everyone a fun summer — but we hope that your fun also includes some exciting pleasure reading. Last year, we did away with the traditional summer reading program found in most schools and we launched “Just Read!”
That program continues this year. There are no requirements. No posters. No essays. No reading logs. We want our students to understand that sometimes reading is just fun! And they don’t have to report on what they’ve read. We want them to know they can just simply enjoy a good book!
There is an option to complete a short activity that will get a student a homework pass once school starts up again in September.

We hope that parents will encourage their students to “Just Read!”
For questions about this program, you may either contact your school’s media specialist or Mr. Brian Ersalesi, Supervisor of English and Arts.
