Three of our finest FCS (Family and Consumer Sciences) students traveled to Atlanta, Georgia for this year’s national FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) conference.
The FCCLA National Conference was held from June 27th through July 3rd with over 7,000 students in attendance from around the country. Our three students took top prizes in the two events they competed in.
Jillian Davis and Catherine Carton competed in the Advocacy event and presented their projected entitled: “Vegetarianism: Is It For You?” The girls received a first place gold medal in the Northeast/Pacific region.
Caroline McCarthy presented her project in the Nutrition and Wellness event which focused on her efforts toward improving her family’s eating habits. Caroline received a silver medal for her project.
The RHS community is certainly proud of these wonderful accomplishments. Congratulations to Catherine Carton, Jillian Davis, Caroline McCarthy and their teacher Mrs. Geraldine Howard.
