It’s hard to believe that the school year is already half over.  Winter sports have begun tournament play.   The senior fashion show will take place on February 7. With close to 700 tickets sold already, it is sure to be an amazing night! I would like to wish the entire Rutherford Community a Happy New Year from RHS. It is hard to believe that we are in December already!  It has been a very exciting time here at RHS with a successful fall season capped off by a state championship from our football team.  The members of our National Honor Society competed in the annual Rutherford vs. Becton spelling bee on the day before Thanksgiving.  Rutherford once again defeated Becton to start the holiday weekend off on a high note.  Our band and choir students have been working extremely hard preparing for their Winter Concert, which will take place at 7:30 PM on December 7.  December 22 will be a half-day and RHS … [Read more...] about Word from the Principal

November will be a very busy month at RHS.  School will be closed on Tuesday, November 7 for Election Day as well as the November 9 and 10 for Teachers’ Convention.  There will be an important PTSA meeting on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30 pm. The All School Play, will be performed on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18.  The All-Sports Booster Fall Sports Dinner will be on November 21.  Schools will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 23 and 24 with a one-session day on Wednesday, Nov. 22. We are off to an amazing start here at RHS.  The energy and excitement in the building has been great!  During walkthroughs, formal observations, and general circulation of the building, I have seen an increase in student-driven activities, group assignments, peer-to-peer instruction and problem based-learning due to our 1:1 Chromebook initiative.  Our fall sports teams are in full swing and having extremely successful results.   We have a very busy October planned.  We have partnered with Hackensack Hospital to conduct a seat belt challenge on October 5.
