On Thursday May 30th, the day before the Senior Prom, the Seniors witnessed a deadly accident re-enactment to bring home the potential consequences of distracted driving. Nick’s Towing provided two wrecked cars and set them up as if the accident had just happened. Student-actors from the senior class played the parts of victims and witnesses. The Rutherford Police Department, The Rutherford Fire Department, and The Rutherford First Aid Ambulance Corps all responded as if the incident was real. The afternoon was led by School Resource Officer Detective Alford Anderson who coordinated the event and provided a detailed debriefing to students afterwords in the auditorium. RHS thanks Nick’s Towing and all of our first responders for allowing our students to see, first-hand, the tragedy that can happen behind the wheel. .
