The students in Mrs. Bongiovanni and Ms. Scrimenti's homerooms, with the assistance of Mrs. Espinosa, completed a digital story for their unit on the Middle Ages. The students chose a specific historical event to research. They had to include an important figure that was present in that time period and country. From there, they created a narrative that included a plausible plot. The students practiced their fluency and expression while recording their stories. The 5th grade at Pierrepont has been selected to participate in the 2017 Jets Play 60 Program Equipped by Modell's! Ms. Mahoney, Physical Education teacher, is organizing the event for all 5th grade classes. The program will run from May 8th- June 5th. The Jets Play 60 Program encourages students to track their activity over the course of 4 weeks with the goal of achieving 60 minutes of activity each day. ​Books and Beyond is a reading incentive program that all 4th and 5th grade students at Pierrepont School have the opportunity to participate in. This year's theme was "Reading is Our Super Power." Over a three month period, students recorded the date, title of book, and the amount of minutes that they read (in 20 minute intervals).   Each week, the minutes were tallied up and students were given a prize for completing each of the 5 stations (reading goals).  Students who completed each station were invited to the graduation breakfast sponsored by the PTA.
