Bulldog Buddy Program
This November, we kicked off our Bulldog Buddy Program here at Pierrepont School. The Bulldog Buddy Program is a leadership opportunity designed for 6th-grade students who demonstrate respect, responsibility, and self-awareness. Students who are selected will serve as positive role models by visiting a 5th or 4th-grade classroom to read books that focus on social-emotional learning, character education, and our Profile of a Rutherford Graduate pillars. I am so proud of all the hard work our students and staff demonstrated during the first quarter of the school year! The first few weeks of quarter 2 are off to a great start. The Silver Bells program is underway! Silver Bells provides needy families in our school and community with items for the holidays. We will be collecting monetary donations through December 12th. This year we will also collect gift cards from the following vendors: Shop-Rite, Target and Amazon. “Walk in Someone Else’s Shoes” Podcast Project
In Ms. Mann’s 6th-grade classes, students stepped into a “walk in someone else’s shoes” podcast project, designed to build empathy, communication, character, and creativity. Each student interviewed a teacher or staff member from around the building, collaborating to craft thoughtful questions and film their conversations. After filming, students transformed their raw footage into a polished podcast video by adding graphics, intro/outro music, transitions, and other creative elements using their growing editing skills.
