Students from Mrs. Mirkovich and Ms. Levine’s ELA classes participated in a Book Tasting, allowing students to explore a variety of text types and genres. Throughout the lesson, students previewed multiple books and discovered titles and topics that sparked their interests. As they sampled each book, students reflected on their reading preferences by completing a brochure in which they rated and shared their thoughts about each title. We held our end of year PBSIS pep rally which included games, a student talent show, and teacher performance. Winners, who demonstrated respect, responsibility, and self control all year, were selected from each grade level to win the end of year prizes. 250th Anniversary Dioramas
To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, students in Mr. Bach's and Mr. Cuomo's Social Studies classes designed and created 3D dioramas showcasing important events, battles, and moments from this pivotal period in American history. Through research, creativity, and hands-on learning, students brought history to life. These projects celebrate both the significance of the American Revolution and the students' hard work, imagination, and historical thinking skills.
Tar Beach Reading Day!
Our 4th graders had a wonderful time celebrating Tar Beach Reading Day! Students enjoyed relaxing outdoors with their favorite books, beach towels, sunglasses, and special snacks while soaking up the sunshine. It was a fun way to encourage a love of reading and kick off summer with a good book in hand!
