We have had a busy fall so far. It is hard to believe that first quarter of the school year has come to a close! Parents will receive a notification when report cards are finalized and ready to view. The Service Club is sponsoring a food drive to support the Rutherford Community Food Pantry. Donations will be accepted through November 17. Whodunit? Students Travel Back to the 1940s for a Schoolhouse Clue Mystery!
In the week leading up to Halloween, Pierrepont students stepped back in time to the 1940s for a special Schoolhouse Clue mystery challenge! Each day, a new clue was revealed over the loudspeaker in the style of a vintage radio broadcast, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. Students used their detective skills to piece together who did it, where it happened, and with what item. From decoding hints to analyzing suspects, the entire school worked together to crack the case. The suspenseful mix of mystery, history, and teamwork made this Halloween week one to remember! Fourth Grade Students Engineer Model Lighthouses
Students in Mrs. Stallone's fourth grade STEM class designed, engineered, and programmed a working lighthouse using Legos, mirrors, and their SAMLabs block kits. The students learned about the purpose of a lighthouse and used SAMLabs to program their blocks to spin and light up, just like a real lighthouse! The students worked together to figure out a way to get the lighthouse to light up when the room became dark. Fun was had by all in our last project of Quarter 1!

Gobble Up Hunger Food Drive to benefit the Rutherford Community Food Pantry
Halloween
On Friday, October 31, students will be permitted to come to school in their costumes all day. There will be no need for students to change into their costumes at lunch time. We will also sponsor a costume contest recognizing the most original, funniest, and scariest costumes. The Pierrepont PTA is generously sponsoring prizes for the contest winners. In the interest of safety, please be sure to design your child’s costume so that it will allow him or her to move safely throughout the building and to engage in instruction throughout the day.
