Second graders are learning all about geography! Mrs. D’Anneo’s students read the book Me on the Map and discussed where we are in the world- from our classroom and school to our town, state, country, and planet. Students enjoyed exploring maps, making connections to their own communities, and discovering how every place fits into the bigger world around us. Honoring Our Veterans
Washington School hosted a very touching, student-led Memorial Day assembly honoring local veterans and family members who have served our country. Students demonstrated Rutherford competencies such as citizenship, communication, and caring through patriotic songs, a presentation about America’s White Table, and facts about the American flag. The assembly reflected respect, gratitude, and pride as students thoughtfully recognized and honored our special guests.
