With the holiday season upon us, we can reflect on a productive and exciting fall session. October was a very busy month. We celebrated our Week of Respect, setting the foundation for our year-long character education program. Corey the Dribbler reminded us how we can maintain a healthy school environment by following the acronym R.E.A.D. - Respect, Education, Attitude and Don't Bully. With the fall now finally in full swing, we look forward to a busy November. We will welcome parents and guardians to Washington School for our annual Visitation Day on Tuesday, November 14. A schedule with visitation times for each grade level has been distributed. Parent-Teacher conferences will be held in the evening on Thursday, November 16 and all day on Friday, November 17. On behalf of our entire staff at Washington School, welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I trust that you have had a relaxing and enjoyable summer with your families. It's is hard to believe that we are already in the "home-stretch", and the summer break is nearly upon us. We've had a very productive spring season thus far. The PARCC Assessment was administered to our third grade students during the first week of May. Our first and second grade students put on quite a show at their Spring Concert titled E-I-E-I-O. Our first grade students are enjoying their field trips to the Turtle Back Zoo. In Bookworm Buddies club, our third grade boys are reading Dan Gutman's Honus and Me this month.
