Business Students Place Second in New Jersey Consumer Bowl for Bergen County

Under the direction of Ms. Cherryl Bott and Mrs. Judy Leonard, teachers of Fundamentals of Contemporary Business, RHS students placed second in the Bergen County division of the New Jersey High School Consumer Bowl. Our students demonstrated their knowledge of the NJ Consumer Fraud Act, consumer rights and responsibilities such as the purchase of new and used vehicles, investment schemes, home improvement fraud, credit protection, and general knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations. Under the direction of advisors Judith Leonard and Cherryl Bott-Melfa, students from Rutherford High School participated in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Regional Competition on December 6, 2016. Approximately 40 students competed in a variety of business-related events such as: Business Law, Sports and Entertainment Management, Advertising, Accounting 1, Marketing, Introduction to Financial Math, Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Business, Introduction to Business Communication, and Business Calculations.
