As we approach the October 2 Referendum vote, it is important that the electorate is informed. Our schools are overcrowded. Overcrowded conditions have been cited by every administrator, Board of Education member, by teachers, by students, and by parents. This reality is not only based on daily observation, it substantiated by the Department of Education’s Facilities Efficiency Standard and District Capacity Practice Report. That report, along with an analysis and explanation of the report and its impact on the District’s Long Range Facility Plan are posted below.
Please note that the analysis of the report, prepared in January by the District’s architect, clarified the reasons that the portable classrooms at Pierrepont needed to be maintained. Also note, that following the report, plans were altered at the High School to add an additional classroom, increasing the net gain to five classes.
