We have planned for some different types of days that we hope will engage our students and allow the school day to be structured a little differently. On these days, all Pierrepont students will sign in to complete their daily attendance question and then complete a variety of assignments/activities in place of their usual classwork. Teachers will share specific information via Google Classroom as the dates draw closer. There will be a closure or reflection assignment for the students to submit at the completion of each of these days.
Discovery Day May 29– Students will fill their school day with a variety of activities from a choice board. The activities cover a range of topics related to Math, ELA, Hands on/DIY, PE, the arts, SEL, and real world skills.
SEL Day June 5– Students will engage in a variety of activities that support our school wide goal of Social Emotional Learning.
International/Culture Day- June 12- The activities will allow students to explore and celebrate a variety of cultures, while focusing on the key idea of “why it is important to learn about other cultures”.
During the week of June 15, parents will be asked to drop off any textbooks and Pierrepont School library books and will have an opportunity to pick up any personal belongings left behind in student desks and lockers. Drop off and pick up times will be staggered to minimize the number of people and provide space for social distancing. A detailed schedule for drop off and pick up of student materials will be shared via Connect 5 and posted on the school website soon.
Please let us know if we can be of any assistance. We have resources available to assist with academic, emotional, or technology support.
