This year, the fourth graders in STEM class are working with a new program called SAMLabs. They have been learning to build virtual systems using the SAMLabs software, which they connect to their physical SAMLabs blocks. Here, the students have created a lighting system that contains a light sensor block and a light block. When the light sensor senses no light, their light blocks turn on!

G&T Business Competition
On Monday, June 10th, 24 6th grade students in Mrs. Almaliah's Gifted and Talented class took part in the Business Competition held by the Bergen County Consortium of Teachers of the Gifted. After months of hard work creating a food truck and designing a marketing plan, menus, budgets, social media, etc. to create a well rounded business suitable for a loan from the judges, all the teams met at Valley Middle School in Oakland for competition day.
