Pierrepont School was recognized for its Rachel’s Challenge program at the 2017 SNAP Conference. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office held it’s first “Be Wise” contest for innovative school programming dealing with topical issues. This year’s topic was combating hate and bias incidents. Flashlight Friday
Mrs. Philp and Mrs. Smith's fifth grade classes have been reading Wonder. On Friday, however, they read with a twist. The students partnered and read to one another using flashlights. Sixth Grade Egypt Projects
The students in Mrs. Bongiovanni's social studies class have been researching about ancient Egypt. Students researched about specific people, such as King Tut or Menes II; ways of life, such as housing and religion, and other elements of ancient Egypt's culture. Groups created artifacts that represent their research and gave oral presentations explaining their chosen topics. Students took a museum tour of the different artifacts created by the class. Rachel’s Challenge Visits Lincoln School
Pierrepont School implemented Rachel’s Challenge in September 2013. Since then, students in grades 4,5,and 6 have had the opportunity to join our club, Friends of Rachel (FOR). The program helps stimulate academic achievement and social-emotional learning by focusing on the connection between students, faculty and staff. The Friends of Rachel’s Club has been meeting after school to develop programs that promote kindness in the school community. Fourth Grade Social
Thank you to the Pierrepont School PTA for sponsoring a Halloween themed social for the fourth grade. It was a great night with a DJ, photo booth, game stations, and face painting.
