Could you spell the words “vociferous, psychometry, or klystron?” These are a few of the words our spellers were challenged with. Thirty-three spellers competed on January 28th at the annual Pierrepont School Spelling Bee and after 36 hard-fought rounds, we crowned a new champion: Madhavi Pandarthil a fifth-grader from Mrs. Viola and Mrs. Frazier’s homeroom. The spelling bee lasted 3 hours, 20 minutes and over 250 words were spelled in front of an audience of family, friends, and Pierrepont School staff. Students in Mrs. Lampart and Mrs. Jeffas' Computer Tech classes recently used Sphero Bolt+ robots for the first time. Let’s Debate! Sparta v. Athens
As part of their unit on Ancient Greece, 6th grade students in Mrs. Manocchio & Ms. Levine's social studies classes engaged in a lively and informative debate, arguing which city-state was better: Sparta or Athens. The Trip of a Lifetime
Ms. Mann’s class recently embarked on the field trip of a lifetime—without ever leaving their school. Using cutting-edge Virtual Reality (VR) technology, the students traveled back in time to explore the wonders of Ancient Egypt.
