In conjunction with Native American Heritage Month and the culmination of our unit on the novel Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech the sixth-grade students in Ms. Medina, Mrs. Manocchio, & Ms. Levine's classes completed a project on influential Native Americans. Gifted & Talented “Fuzzy Challenge” Presentations
Over the last few months, students in 6th grade Gifted and Talented classes have worked in small groups to solve a "fuzzy challenge." A "fuzzy challenge" is not clear at the start of the assignment. The challenge is complex and mult-dimensional. Very much like real-life situations, all of the teams had the same task, but were competing to create a better solution than other teams. The students in Mrs. Viola's, Ms. Hart's and Mrs. Bongiovanni's homerooms made Wonder portraits inspired by the book Wonder. The students described themselves using positive traits and quotes. The focus of the lesson was to show all the goodness and unique qualities we have on the inside.
