Washington School Participates in the Hour of Code
The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities. Students of Washington School participated in the Hour of Code this week. Washington School Students Learn About Celebrations Around the World
The students at Washington School learned about celebrations around the world. This week Mrs. Cormack's Spanish classes talked about the Mexican celebration of Las Posadas. First graders made a necklace that retells the story of Las Posadas, second graders made a Spanish mini-reader and third graders made a flip book identifying key parts of the celebration. DRA Parent Workshop at Washington School
Fifty parents are currently participating in a Parent/Teacher workshop as part of the Second Cup of Coffee series at Washington School. Ms. Anne Hetzel and Mrs. Rachel Mejias are presenting "What Is a DRA?" (Developmental Reading Assessment).
