Lunar New Year
Gung hay fat choy! Ms. Rossiter's class embraced the spirit of the Lunar New Year with a fun and creative celebration. Students learned about the traditions and significance of the holiday while making colorful dragons and lanterns to symbolize good luck and prosperity. Compound Word Snowball Fight
Our second graders had a blast learning compound words through an interactive and engaging activity! In Mrs. D'Anneo's class, students participated in a Compound Word Snowball Fight- but instead of real snow, they used words! Each student crumpled a word into a "snowball," and tossed it into the pile. Then, they each picked up a "snowball", flattened it out, read the word, and searched for their matching partner to create a compound word. It was a fun and hands-on way to reinforce their learning. Dream Flowers
After learning about Dr. Martin Luther King's life, legacy and the importance of dreaming big, students in Mrs. DeRosa's second grade class created their own dream flowers. Inspired by Dr. King's vision, each student created a "Dream Flower", expressing their personal hopes and dreams for the future.
