There are not many better combinations than a beautiful morning, live music, and a celebration of writing! As we all gear up for an exciting summer, the students in Mrs. Manocchio and Ms. Levine’s ELA classes spent some time outside “chalking up the blacktop” with wonderful summer-themed haiku poems. The writers were accompanied by a solo acoustic guitar performance by classmate Lucas Linardos, who strummed along to song requests in the background, as his classmates wrote their haikus in sidewalk chalk and drew visual images to go with them. The students had a fantastic time and were very excited for all students in the whole school to see their writing when outside during lunchtime recess and after school at dismissal time. Wishing everyone a beautiful summer!
