The Green Team at Pierrepont School has entered into a recycling competition with other schools from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The competition is simple: bring in and collect as many plastic bag products as possible. The more we collect, the better chance we have to win a brand new Trex Bench. Trex materials are made up of 95% plastic and recycling is a great way to help our community!
There is a bin located on the front steps of Pierrepont School for any community member that wishes to contribute to our competition. Examples of appropriate items are:
Grocery Bags • Bread Bags • Water Bottle Case Bags • Dry Cleaning Bags • Newspaper Sleeves • Ice Bags • Wood Pellet Bags • Ziploc and Other Reclosable Bags • Produce Bags • Bubble Wrap • Salt Bags • Cereal Bags
Keep in mind: bags need to be clear of any food or dirt residue.
If you have any questions, please reach out to one of the Green Team advisors (Mr. Bach or Mrs. Singer) and we will be more than happy to help you.Thank you for all of your help in this process!
