Could you spell the words “dingoes, conurbation or katabatic?” Twenty-four spellers competed on January 25, 2022 at the annual Pierrepont School Spelling Bee and after 21 hard-fought rounds crowned a new champion: Saisha Patel, a sixth-grader from Mrs. Manocchio & Ms. Mitchell’s homeroom. The spelling bee lasted 2 hours, 15 minutes and over 200 words were spelled in front of an audience of family and Pierrepont School staff. The top 3 finishers are: 3rd place – Ayush Shah, grade 4, 2nd place – Russell Kim, grade 6 and 1st place Saisha Patel, grade 6. Congratulations to all our winners and participants!
