6th grade students in the STEM elective at Pierrepont demonstrate their knowledge of Newton’s Laws of Motion, Forces and Energy concepts as well as their engineering design skills to design, test, and improve cars made from of recycled materials. The goal is for the car to travel at least 8 ft within 1 meter width using a potential energy source (balloon powered, rubber band or mouse trap car).
