To celebrate the beginning of the new school year, as well as to commemorate Patriot Day which took place on September 11th, Mrs. Manocchio and Mrs. TIffner’s 6th grade homerooms took part in the Kindness Rocks Project. The students discussed how small acts of kindness can have a significant positive impact on our school, community, and world. The students also talked about what it means to show good character and practice empathy towards others. They brainstormed encouraging messages that could brighten someone’s day and painted those motivating words on rocks that they decorated. The rocks were then placed in various locations outside of Pierrepont School and along the routes that many students travel on their way to and from school each day, in hopes that these rocks would be found by others. The Kindness Rock Project is growing in popularity and quickly becoming a great way to spread joy and kindness. Way to go, sixth graders!
