Mrs. Manocchio’s husband made a guest appearance in Ms. McCabe’s 6th Grade STEM class to discuss with the students what it is like to be an engineer! During the Zoom visit, Mr. Manocchio discussed the engineering and design process, along with the steps that engineers go through in developing a product. Students had prepared thoughtful questions related to what they have been learning in their STEM class and had many of their questions answered, such as how someone becomes an engineer and the types of products that biomedical engineers help to create. They also discussed the challenges that engineers sometimes face as they make adjustments to prototypes, as well as the feeling of accomplishment once a helpful product becomes available to those in need. A fun and informative experience was had by all!
