If you attended the first and second grade music concert last evening, you left smiling! The students did a fabulous job performing for a packed crowd. You may have also stopped in the main office to see our clutch of chickens. We had 5 chicks hatch and one still making its way out to the world. The chickens will be staying with us next week. I can assure you we had many, many visitors in the office to watch the hatching, check on progress, and celebrate spring. Thanks to the PTA for arranging this hands-on experience. Character Trait of the Month
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Zest. Zest is not just a brand of soap! It is an enthusiasm and excitement for all that you do; a desire to be active and feel alive! Children learn to be passionate about things by watching their parents get excited and from receiving encouragement for things at which they are good. We want the children to approach life as an adventure; so that one has motivation in challenging situations or tasks. This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Hope. The difference between hope and optimism is that hope isn’t based in reality. Hope is in your imagination. Hope is believing that your dreams will come true. Hope is usually described with such metaphors as: a ray, a beam, a glimmer of hope; the light at the end of the tunnel. Character of the Month
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Forgiveness. The act of forgiveness requires forgiveness for others, and sometimes you must forgive yourself. When you choose to forgive, the barriers are torn down, and the record is wiped clean. We teach our children to say, “I am sorry,” “I was wrong,” “Will you please forgive me?” The important phrase here being Will you please forgive me?
