This was an exciting year at Lincoln! The students planted in the woods, planted bulbs around the school, watched chicks hatch, learned about zest, fairness, bravery, creativity, forgiveness, kindness, and hope. They performed musically and displayed their artistic talents. Students paraded for Halloween and then played on Field Day. Academically, students learned to increase their reading and phonics skills, write imaginative or informational stories, and think mathematically. We also were amazed as students learned about citizenship and scientific explorations. Students were asked to thank brave citizens and those enlisted in our armed services while displaying flags in front of the school. This year students expanded their technological skills (often teaching the adults) as we integrated Chromebook usage in all grades. Students used Google Drive and Google Classroom to work on projects. At this time of year it is heart warming to look at where students were in September compared to the learners and citizens they are today. Thank you for the collaboration between the home and school environment; it really helps the children grow! I hope this was your child’s special year and he/she can relate to The Year of Billy Miller!
