Stacker Cup Challenge
Lincoln School students had the chance to think 'outside the box' in Mr. Potor’s Physical Education class this past week. Groups of students were presented with 12 stacker cups and one big piece of tape. They had to create a self-standing, upside down triangle. Teams had to collaborate, experiment, modify and laugh during the challenge. Students at Lincoln School attended the Geography Gym assembly program. The presenter placed a large map of the USA on the gym floor and students ran to different oceans, regions, and states to reinforce map and directional concepts. Inspired by Yo-Yo Ma
Ms. Monochello’s 3rd grade class was inspired by Yo-Yo Ma, world famous cellist, when they read the book Yo-Yo Ma: World Musician by Lou Ann Walker. Yo-Yo Ma believed, “music can act as a magnet to draw people together.” This inspirational quote sparked an idea with Ms. Monochello's class. They wanted to make their own instruments!
