Ms. Uryniak, one of the reading specialists at Lincoln School, will be hosting a workshop for parents/ guardians on the Project Read phonics program we use to teach letters and corresponding sounds. Week of Respect
The Week of Respect is October 3-7. During the month of October, Lincoln School students will learn about, and celebrate, acts of kindness to others. Students will participate in specific activities to demonstrate respect for each other. Ms. Bregman, our Student Assistance Counselor, will visit classrooms during the month to discuss various topics. Lincoln Woods Ribbon Cutting
In February 2012, we asked you to contribute to a vision of reclaiming the Lincoln Woods area for our children and the community of Rutherford by turning the Woods into an environmental trail and outdoor classroom. Through the collaborative effort of the Rutherford Shade Tree Committee, the Borough of Rutherford Mayor and Town Council, the Rutherford Board of Education and the Lincoln School Community, this vision is coming to fruition. Hard Character Trait Focus: Respect
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Respect. Respect is a way of treating or thinking about something or someone. If you respect your teacher, you admire her and treat her well. People respect others who are impressive for any reason, such as being in authority — like a teacher or police officer — or being an elder — like a grandparent. Back to School Night
I would like to invite you to attend Lincoln School’s Back to School Night on September 22nd. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s classroom teacher and some special subject teachers as well. Teachers may present information on classroom routines and procedures, curriculum, special activities, and instructional materials.
