Ms. Freitag's class read the book, Freckle Juice by Judy Blume. Students then turned this well-known book into a play. Students wrote their lines, designed their costumes, brought in props, and added sound effects. The students rehearsed the play and then performed it for their peers. Spread a Little Love
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- LOVE. Love is a variety of feelings, attitudes and emotions. The dictionary lists love as a noun and a verb. It is a strong feeling of affection for another person -- such as you love your parents, grandparents, brother or sister, an intense emotional attachment to something,-- such as your pet or a treasured object, or a need or requirement for life --such as plants love the sun. Pretzel Sale Success
Lincoln held a student driven pretzel sale. Students made the flyers, designed the stand, ordered, set prices, and finally sold the pretzels. All students were dealing with real money, making or counting change and communicating with customers. The next step is for some third graders to count the money, subtract costs and determine final revenue. All proceeds will go to the PTA. Lincoln’s Great Kindness Challenge Makes NJ12 News
Channel NJ12 features a segment, Education Matters, and highlighted Lincoln on this segment today. A camera crew visited Lincoln yesterday to see what was happening for the Great Kindness Challenge. Students were making crafts, thank you cards and paper flowers to give to special people as a way of being kind. Students were Crazy for Kindness yesterday and wore crazy hairstyles.
