Our second graders had a blast learning compound words through an interactive and engaging activity! In Mrs. D'Anneo's class, students participated in a Compound Word Snowball Fight- but instead of real snow, they used words! Each student crumpled a word into a "snowball," and tossed it into the pile. Then, they each picked up a "snowball", flattened it out, read the word, and searched for their matching partner to create a compound word. It was a fun and hands-on way to reinforce their learning. Dream Flowers
After learning about Dr. Martin Luther King's life, legacy and the importance of dreaming big, students in Mrs. DeRosa's second grade class created their own dream flowers. Inspired by Dr. King's vision, each student created a "Dream Flower", expressing their personal hopes and dreams for the future. Orange Day – Fairness
At Washington School, our Character Education color program fosters important values that guide our students' growth. This month, our community wore orange to represent fairness, sparking meaningful conversations about what fairness truly means. Exploring Two-Dimensional Shapes
