Rutherford Public School students in grades 7, 9, 10 and 11 have the great opportunity to utilize their district-issued Chromebook for learning during the summer months. Students are encouraged to use their devices over the summer to complete summer assignments and to pursue hobbies and other interests as long as those pursuits would be appropriate on a school-issued device. A STEM experience to remember
Mrs. Herninko and several students from Union School welcomed 3rd graders from Washington School for a STEM experience to remember. The 3rd graders used zSpace to work with 3D models of animals and learn more about their adaptations. They were taught by our 3D printing team how to use TinkerCAD and all were able to 3D print their own personal keychains. Union School visits first grade students
Students in Mrs. Mac-Doty's Pop Culture elective visited with first grade students at Washington School to share original stories and poems. After studying the 1970s and the impact author Shel Silverstein had on the decade, students created poems and illustrations to emulate his style. Poems were compiled into books, which were shared with the first grade classes, and each first grade student received a copy of his or her own. Class Space
Problem: As enrollment increases and we offer more programs, our classroom space is impacted. Solution: Investing in the “Our Kids, Our Vision, Our Future” referendum will provide 11 more classrooms at Pierrepont, 5 new classrooms at RHS, 3 classrooms at Union and 2 additional classrooms at Lincoln.
