“When words fail, music speaks!” Even through this unusual year, our sixth grade continued a long tradition of celebrating Music In Our Schools Month by creating musical instruments. In addition to rainsticks, drums and assorted maracas and flutes, several students chose to make instruments from world cultures – a bagpipe (Ireland/Scotland), a tambura (guitar from Bulgaria), a cajon (Box drum from Mexico), lyre (Greece), castanets (Spain), Guzheng (Harp from China), Janggu (drum from Korea.)
