The students in Mrs. Colucci’s and Mrs. Barone’s science classes are learning about the skeletal and muscular systems. With our Mystery Science program, we built a robot finger out of paper and string, and compared it to our human fingers.
This project especially highlighted our PORG quality of creativity as students considered ideas for how to make the finger stronger, or to combine the fingers to use like a hand. Critical Thinking skills were also encouraged as students compared our model to the development of prosthetics and considered applications for broader use.
