Students from Mrs. Mirkovich and Ms. Levine’s ELA classes participated in a Book Tasting, allowing students to explore a variety of text types and genres. Throughout the lesson, students previewed multiple books and discovered titles and topics that sparked their interests. As they sampled each book, students reflected on their reading preferences by completing a brochure in which they rated and shared their thoughts about each title. To wrap up the experience, students shared the books they enjoyed most and explained what made those books appealing to them. The Book Tasting encouraged students to explore beyond their usual reading choices and discover books that they were excited to read.
