Happy Birthday, Lincoln School!
Lincoln School is celebrating its 100th school year. In honor of the occasion, the school is holding a day-long celebration on Wednesday April 16, 2014. Students should plan to wear blue and white or their bulldog apparel to commemorate this event. Students will receive a presentation in the morning by the Meadowlands Museum on the history of the school, which will include photos, artifacts and ideas of what school was like 100 years ago. Bergen County Police Pipe and Drum Band Visits
The Bergen County Police Pipe and Drum Band visited Lincoln School this week. The students lined the halls as four bagpipers and one drummer marched around the school. Students Celebrate Dr. Seuss
NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. On Monday, March 4th students from RHS visited Lincoln and led activities that highlighted Dr. Seuss' work. Students also had guest readers from around the community. Students were visited by Town Council members, Board of Education trustees, EMT workers, Rutherford principals and supervisors, and town management personnel. Third Grade Concert Date Change
As you know, the weather this winter has been challenging and the students missed some music classes. In order to showcase our students' musical talents properly, we have moved the third grade concert. The concert will now be April 3, 2014 at 9 a.m. with doors opening at 8:50 a.m. We hope the snow will be melted by then so parking is a little easier as well. We know some parents/ grandparents may need to rearrange schedules to come to this new date and we thank you for understanding. We just want the students to feel confident in their show!
