Each month students will be exposed to one character trait, which will be defined, modeled and analyzed in characters, leadership, and everyday application. This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Mindfulness. Mindfulness is being in the present moment. We are teaching students to be mindful and present in their interactions in class by being active listeners. ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL Students will enter through the gym door facing Vreeland Avenue or through the side door, which faces West Pierrepont Avenue between 8:10 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The drop off lanes will be available on Vreeland Ave. and Montross. There are cones denoting this area. Remember parents cannot park or watch children walk into the building in the drop off lane. Welcome back to an exciting 2017-2018 school year! School opens for all students on Thursday, September 7th (It's a full day). Throughout the summer many teachers came to school and prepared your classrooms to make them exciting and welcoming. Mr. Peeples and the custodial staff worked diligently to get our school organized, clean, and ready for you. The first day of school will certainly be a very exciting event for the all of us. Summer Enrichment
Many parents ask me how they can keep their children’s skills on grade level over the summer. I strongly encourage parents to have their children do some academic work 30-40 minutes a day five days a week. Parents should not have young learners complete work all at once, but break it into sections. I try to infuse skills into my son’s everyday activities.
