Olympic Excitement at Lincoln
Winter Olympics came to Lincoln School. Physical education teacher, Tom Potor, designed a number of events for the students to participate in that related to the events in South Korea (minus the snow and ice). Mr. Potor shared the history of the Olympic symbol with all and displayed this symbol in the center of the 'ice rink.' Students had the chance to ride on a bobsled, ski jump, speed skate and slide the curling stone. The Olympic torch will also be relayed in coming classes. Showing Gratitude
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Gratitude. Gratitude is an emotion expressing appreciation for what one has—as opposed to, what one wants. The benefits of practicing gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems. Soup-er Bowl
We have counted all the cans of soup donated to our Soup-er Bowl collection. New England Patriots had 90 items and the Philadelphia Eagles had 160! Good luck to both teams this Sunday.
