Election Excitement Hits Lincoln
For the past two weeks second graders participated in an interdisciplinary unit on the election process. Students brainstormed issues facing them, selected the two most pressing issues (dance party and one week of no homework) and then ran campaigns to have their issue passed! On Monday the second grade teachers held a political rally where students persuaded the audience to support their cause. Bravery
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Bravery. Bravery means facing your fears. We are discussing bravery in school through our books and actions. We are encouraging students to try something new and to think about a skill they want to learn. We also want to teach students to be brave and stand up when something is wrong. National Pumpkin Day
Ms. Demirbulakli's preschool classes couldn't contain their excitement when Ms. D revealed the 'Great Pumpkin' in honor of National Pumpkin Day! (Yes, there is a National Pumpkin Day). Preschoolers discovered there are seeds and flesh inside the pumpkin and used their hands to explore the materials.
