Week of Respect
The Week of Respect is October 7-11. During the month of October, Lincoln School students will learn about, and celebrate, acts of kindness to others. Students will participate in specific activities to demonstrate respect for each other. Ms. Huzzy, our student assistance counselor, will visit classrooms during the month. Pierrepont’s “Friends of Rachael Challenge” will also visit Lincoln School to discuss how Pierrepont students show kindness and will encourage our students to pledge an act of kindness! Third Grade Book Club
Thanks to a grant by the Rutherford Education Foundation, Lincoln School will be hosting Lunch Bunch Book Club for students in grade three. Here’s how it will work. Students will receive a book one month prior to the meeting. Meetings will be listed on the Google calendar. On the day of the meeting, we will enjoy some lunch together, while discussing the books that we read. I cannot think of a better way to spend lunch! Word Work Newsletter
Thank you to all who attended Back to School Night. This was a great opportunity for you to learn about your school and the ways we continually are trying to improve. One of the goals, Word Work, was discussed in the general session. Attached is some additional information from our reading specialists, Mrs. Monochello, Mrs. Risoli and Ms. Reenstra. Remembering Everyday Heroes
The students at Lincoln School, Rutherford, joined a nation wide campaign on September 11 by participating in Operation Goody Bag. The students wrote letters to the First Responders in Rutherford thanking them for their service and dedication to the community of Rutherford. Many of the students expressed their feelings of safety due to the actions of the First Responders.
