Thanks to a grant by the Rutherford Education Foundation, Lincoln School will be hosting Lunch Bunch Book Club for students in grade three. Here’s how it will work. Students will receive a book one month prior to the meeting. Meetings will be listed on the Google calendar. On the day of the meeting, we will enjoy some lunch together, while discussing the books that we read. I cannot think of a better way to spend lunch!
Students in the Book Club will have an opportunity to discuss books with their friends, Mr. Giordano or me. The only requirement is that the students read the entire book prior to attending the book club! The REF has generously purchased 20 copies of each book that can be borrowed from the school library. You may also try the town library or some bookshops. Students are encouraged to bring the book to the discussion group and are required to return it if they borrowed it from the school library.
In order to be a member of the Lunch Bunch Book Club, students must read the entire book prior to attending the book club. This will help the students engage in meaningful discussions about the book! Students do not necessarily have to read the books on their own. Parents or other family members can share the reading with them by taking turns reading pages. The more people that enjoy the reading the better!!!
